Snow Monkeys
Snow Monkeys are a model example of resilience and adaptation in solving problems. They are said to possess great wisdom and know how to enjoy life and to share it with others in family and social groups. Don't forget they do at least one really funny thing every day.
I / VII
In 2011 the creative forces of a massive undersea Volcano erupted causing a 9.0 earthquake and devastating tsunami in the Tohoku region of Japan. Soon after, and even years later, this event continues to bring fragments of daily life to wash ashore here in the Pacific Northwest. The natural forces have presented an opportunity to reimagine aspects of this rich culture and enduring friendship here on the Pacific Ring of Fire.
Behind the Plates
The Matrix
Each intaglio print begins with a worked plate. Lines, marks, and textures are built directly into the surface before the plate is inked and run through the press.

The Plate
A completed copper plate before inking.

The Tools
Scrapers, needles, and burnishers shape the plate.

The Surface
Line, texture, and movement developed directly into copper.
